Pinetree Dental | British Columbia Income and Disability Assistance Dental Coverage
Pinetree Dental Centre is proud to support our community by accepting BC’s Income Assistance (IA) and Disability Assistance (DA) dental coverage. We understand that navigating benefit programs can be complex, and our friendly team is here to help you understand your eligible basic dental and orthodontic benefits, ensuring you and your family can access the essential care you need for a healthy smile.

Coverage for Adults (19+)
For eligible adults, the program focuses on providing essential services to maintain oral health, address pain, and ensure proper function. Covered services typically include routine examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, simple and surgical extractions, and some root canal treatments. Dentures, partial dentures, and repairs may also be covered with pre-approval from the ministry. Please note: Adult coverage focuses primarily on basic and emergency care.

Coverage for Children (Under 19)
Children of eligible families receive more comprehensive coverage under the Healthy Kids Program. This includes all essential preventive and basic care such as regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings, and sealants. Orthodontic services (braces) are also covered for children if they are deemed medically necessary to correct a severe functional impairment, and pre-approval is granted.

Dental Fee Schedules
All treatments covered under these assistance programs are reimbursed according to the current BC Dental Association Fee Guide. Our office adheres to this provincial fee schedule for all patients with IA and DA coverage, ensuring transparency and consistency in billing. Please note that coverage for preventive services like exams and cleanings is subject to specific frequency limits set by the ministry (e.g., one cleaning every 6-9 months). Our team will help you understand these limits and plan your care accordingly.

Dental and Orthodontic Services
The programs are designed to cover essential and preventive care. For children, this includes a wider range of services and orthodontics. Please be aware that many major procedures (like crowns and bridges) and orthodontics for adults are not covered. Some covered services for both adults and children require pre-authorization from the Ministry before treatment can begin. Our team will verify your coverage in advance and handle the process of obtaining any necessary pre-approval on your behalf to make your experience as smooth as possible. We are committed to using your benefits effectively to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
