Who’s Eligible?
To qualify for the CDCP, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- You do not have access to dental insurance.
- Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000.
- You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
- You have filed your tax return for the previous year.

When to Apply for the CDCP
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is being introduced in phases. Before you apply, please make sure you meet all four eligibility criteria. Check the schedule below to find out when you can submit your application:

Below are the services that may be covered by the CDCP when recommended by an oral health provider:
- Diagnostic and Preventive Services like cleaning and check-up
- Basic Services like fillings, extractions and root canals
- Major Services like crowns and dentures
- Anesthesia or Sedation Services

Co-Payment
- Please be aware that the CDCP may cover a percentage of your treatment cost, leaving a remaining balance known as a “co-payment.”
- CDCP operates on its own fee schedule, which is different from the provincial guide. This means that even with 100% coverage for a service, a small balance may still be your responsibility. At Pinetree Dental Center we don’t charge the difference for most procedures.
- In compliance with relevant regulations, our clinic is required to collect any applicable co-payment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, which allows us to continue offering care under this valuable program.
